Ghostwriter means that the writer's name remains anonymous to the public, and that your name alone will appear on your book cover and be registered with the Library of Congress as the sole author of the book.

Collaborator means that both our names will appear on the book cover, with your name larger than mine, with an "and" or "with" separating the names, as you can see at left, on the cover of My Vagabond Lover: an Intimate Portrait of Rudy Vallee. I recently adapted this book to a screenplay.

As a newspaper reporter and editor I learned to write fluidly, accurately, and fast. All you have to do is tell me your story. During the writing process I tape-record interviews and provide transcripts and drafts. I also handle all necessary research. Of my latest book, a biography of a fighter pilot, the Smithsonian's Air & Space Magazine said: "All told, the depth, detail and robustness of Jill Amadio's research into [Günther] Rall's life is astounding."

Not all books are sold in bookstores. You may prefer your book to be printed privately and exclusively for family members and not sold commercially. One of my clients had just 30 copies printed. Four of them were Special First Editions with gilt-edged pages and hand bound in Moroccan leather by a master craftsman. The books have become family heirlooms. If you prefer to self-publish I can recommend reasonably-priced small presses or online publishers and bookstore distributors that handle such projects.

I respect clients' wishes for confidentiality and ensure that their stories are treated as privileged information.
